No. No. No. I don't care that the one guy is clearly an Umber. I don't care that Ramsey is looking down as if addressing a small child. This is NOT Rickon, and he will NOT be going to Ramsey. I have declared it not so.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
Ellaria's a bastard herself. No way she takes over Dorne. I think they're mixing Arianna's story into Ellaria. At least with Arianna, the story arc would make some sense.
Yup. I really don't understand why they would cut Arianne for the Ellaria pulp. Arianne represents the plausibly ambitious and empowered female the show has attempted with their ridiculous Kill Bill caricatures.
Apparently, it was more important for them to tie the plot to vengeance for Oberyn (by exterminating his family LOL) than anything in the books. Arianne could have reminded viewers about Beggar King Viserys, and Dorne's ties to Dany and House Targaryen. Characters slightly more important than Oberyn.
Hope for the best, expect the worst. After all we see characters from major killed in each episode so far, even a baby. Shockingly Rickon Stark is next on the D&D chopping block.

I pray to the Old Gods and the New that you are correct but I doubt it.
We need to start compiling a death list for this season. They are on a roll.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!
The ole' drinking game was to take a shot or finish a bottle when a major character died... might pass out before the end of the episode if we tried that this season.

Indeed, here is the trial board. Thoughts?

They did a REALLY good job with that casting. We'll have to see how well the acting goes, but pictures of young Sean Bean and the actual young Ned are very, very similar.
Also, really young Ned and moderately young Ned both seem to have a fire in the belly that later Ned has much less of. Which would fit.
And I thought the casting of little Benjen, little Ned, and young Lyanna were fabulous. Lyanna looks like Bran. The kids had the accent down really well--very hard for younger actors. Whoever directed this episode deserves big props for that scene.
All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Oscar Wilde.

The more I think on this, the more I doubt Rickon's dead.
I could see them giving Ramsay a Rickon head that isn't Rickon. Like what Theon did (they specifically brought that back up). Or what Cersei got with the dwarf heads.
But the Umbers just seemed too . . . at ease. Lord Sniveling Karstark the Spineless seemed much less impressive. The Umber clip made them seem more like Tormund.
Theon talked of his misery over betraying Robb. The Umbers were the first to call Robb king. In a scene where Theon also pledged his fealty. I'm thinking the Umbers might hold true.
Anything is possible, but Ramsay's set himself up to fail--no way he can succeed for long without Roose's steadiness. So, if his "vassals" start tricking him or undermining him, that would make a lot of sense, considering how fast the season is already going.
Or D&D could decide to make things as vile as possible. Also viable.

One last bug in my brain that I will now inflict on all of you (sorry)--the line in the synopsis about Dany meeting her future.
Anyone else think she's going to see something in the flames (the image in the season trailer of someone with Dany's ring on Dany's hands looking into flames)?
If Bran sees the tower fight and Dany sees. . . something. . . it might be too much for one episode.
But I do wonder if she'll see something significant in the flames.
The show has excised all of the Rhaegar prophecy stuff. All the visions from the House of the Undying. All they've done is say Rhaegar was harp-oriented. And gave away his money. While Aerys is horrible and Dany is NOT like her "father."
So. . . could we be in for a double reveal re: Dany and Jon????
Or will D&D drag it out and have us see "part 2" of all this in a later episode?

Some chatter about re: leaked episodes. And the Spanish Dude (apparently that's his official name) has some leaks out--since he was right about episode 2, a lot of people are giving his ideas credence. But I don't have time to track down the original source, so, who knows?

My only quibble is that Jon is supposed to look like a younger version of Ned. Obviously, that wouldn't work in the show, but I still picture Ned and Ben looking like Jon when they were young.
