Some chatter about re: leaked episodes. And the Spanish Dude (apparently that's his official name) has some leaks out--since he was right about episode 2, a lot of people are giving his ideas credence. But I don't have time to track down the original source, so, who knows?
A pity--I was hoping to see if Cersei would really have to carry Tommen into the throne room.
So you know my mom is Mexican/Spanish/Lebanese, right? Don't know if I mentioned it here or SH, but I can take a shot at the translation. Or email my dad. He's retired, but was a translator for the World Bank & IMF before retiring. That's why I never passed language. He would try to "help" me, but end up doing my homework, lol.

My only quibble is that Jon is supposed to look like a younger version of Ned. Obviously, that wouldn't work in the show, but I still picture Ned and Ben looking like Jon when they were young.
Oh, yes.
But they did get his speech pattern down, so, not too shabby.
ETA: Since I have Rickon on the brain, am now wondering if the will be the "pink" letter? That Ramsay has Rickon and will only trade him for Sansa and Jon's allegiance???
Would echo what the Lannisters do with Sansa to Robb. And the show does like drawing parallels.
All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Oscar Wilde.

I did not know this. But I don't have the original of the "leak." Just the rumor.
If I get a chance tomorrow, I'll give it a look.

Indeed they do enjoy their parallels. I know you're probably getting really sick of me referencing it, but my original draft of the Weirwood Ghost OP had a section on Jon having to sacrifice House Stark in order to end the miasma. I thought it was too dark, so I cut it, and posted the happy version. LOL

So is this Mamma:
Yep, she's from Veracruz, too, like me

HA! Never getting sick of it, no worries.
But yes, the idea o a sacrifice to the cause--Robb became a kind of sacrifice. Killed in a "ritual." Same with Jon--though he rose. And Ned, too, was a sacrifice.
So, the ida that it could be Rickon, too. . . I do not like it, Sam I am. But I could be persuaded if he's used as a bargaining chip. Sansa will know full well he'll kill Rickon and Jon. She'll tell Jon so, and WAR!!
Instead of trying to save Arya, they'll be trying to save Rickon.
And all it costs them is the credibility that the Umbers would turn on Robb.

I was going more in the direction that Jon would have to physically sacrifice the surviving members of House Stark, personally, in order to end the miasma.

Credibility schmedibility.
I do not like it either, m'lady. But the ending is supposed to be bittersweet.
In terms of the Umbers turning, I think that markg171's point comes into play. Might be that they are only playing at turning on Robb, and will actually turn on Ramsay.

Again, it was too dark. LOL
Yeah--this idea has been touched on in Heresy re: Jon's killing Bran. I'm not a fan, but that might be emotion.

Very possible. But it would be a cheap and easy way to get the parallels going, especially since they are bringing back the idea os regrets, mistakes/failures, atonements, and redemptions.
Brienne finally gets it really right. Sansa's longing for Arya after they always clashed. Theon gave his litany of failure. Now Bran's seeing Ned's.
One thing in the books that Martin makes clear is that Robb's desire to avenge his father and save his sisters echoes Ned's going south to avenge his father and brother and save his sister.
The show didn't do that--partly because they left out how Lyanna died until this season.
But if they want the parallel back, now Jon would be saving his brother. Instead of Arya. They'd have something of the parallel back. Not as clean as it is in the novels. But. . . present.

Now that you mention it, wasn't there an SSM that stated that Brandon died before he could father any sons, period? I need to look that up.
The SSM says that Brandon died before he had sons, and that it's possible that he left some Snows running around. Basically, how I read it is that Brandon can have bastards, and that they can be males so long as the kids are born after he's dead. Which is of course perfectly possible.
It bugs the shit out of me that they cut the "No" part of the TOJ dialogue in there as Ned says "No, now it ends". Like if you're going to steal the dialogue, then steal it properly lol
Your lordship lost a son at the Red Wedding. I lost four upon the Blackwater. And why? Because the Lannisters stole the throne. Go to King’s Landing and look on Tommen with your own eyes, if you doubt me. A blind man could see it. What does Stannis offer you? Vengeance. Vengeance for my sons and yours, for your husbands and your fathers and your brothers. Vengeance for your murdered lord, your murdered king, your butchered princes. Vengeance!

Yup, I dropped it there myself many moons ago. Tbh, I'm not a fan of it either. And I really, REALLY don't want it to happen. But it is GRRM, it would not only fit, there are passages that point to this being the means of catharsis.
Still, I cut it because it's too horrible to really think about. So I won't. LOL

My thoughts precisely. Well, except for Brienne. I'm done with Brienne.

Okay, and not to pour salt in the wound, but Voice Jr and I were just talking and he pointed out, "Why doesn't Stannis ever have armor, or even a helmet?"
Does the dude even have a crown? D&D have been dressing him like one of Ser Alliser's fresh recruits.

Scholargladiatoria (the guy from the Brienne/Bolton fight critique) actually did a video on this, and he says that Stannis is actually wearing a type of Phillipino armour IIRC. Which again makes no sense cause Stannis isn't Asian lol, should probably for continuity sake wear the same armour as Robert and Renly, which is plate, seeing as they're all brothers from the same place, and moreover should wear something a bit more fucking protective than some chain mail or leather considering he's a king and should therefore have the best armour possible. Which is obviously not that.
It's all just proof that D&D never did, and never will, care about Stannis' storyline.

I agree completely. It was perfectly possible to him to impregnate someone (Ashara) then die before the child was born. Martin has always been so evasive when it comes to parentage of certain characters.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!
