Opening scene was great. Sandor scenes were great. Arya with soldiers was good. Sam in Oldtown was well edited. Jon's speech was good. Dany's silent walk through Dragonstone was powerful. Euron/Cersei/Jamie was amusing.
It would've been much more powerful if Emilia Clarke could act, like, at all...
you're not wrong, but she "emotes" so well... yeah, i threw up in my mouth a little typing that. i keep waiting for her to look over to Tyrion and say, "Come with me if you want to live." and you know what, fuck that. She might be a great actor but we'd never be able to tell because dumb and dumber don't have the fucking foggiest clue what the fuck their doing, and it's not like WWS is writing for them... when you're given shite, there isn't much you can do to improve it.

True, but they write for the other characters too. Dany can do two things, be a robot, or reveal how comical she is. In real life, she's probably the coolest of the bunch. She seems very happy and upbeat, and she doesn't take herselft too seriously. But I don't think the gods intended for her to be an actress. LOL
"I can see it. You have more of the north in you than your brothers."
Arya can impersonate an old man??!!?!?! Are the Faceless Men that good in the books too? This makes her insanely powerful. Also, do you think she's going to kill the Lannister soldiers? That would be a dark route to take, but it would really show how the character has changed (and be a nice anti-parallel to the Hound, who is clearly regretting his previous disregard for the lives of others).
I loooooved the scene where Sansa and Lord Glover tried to talk back to Jon, and Jon stood his ground against them. In the end, they all agreed that this was the right thing to do. Good for him!
Sansa could really become a problem for Jon, if he can't make her feel valued and give her some of the power she craves. It'll be interesting to see how the power dynamic unfolds when Bran - the rightful heir to Winterfell out of the three, no question - arrives in an episode or two.
Euron is still a bit underwhelming. After The Forsaken chapter, he just seems like he should be completely terrifying ... and he's not. Would Cersei really marry Euron?? I can't imagine her letting that dirty pirate put his hands on her.
Poor Sam! But good for him, sneaking in to read the forbidden books. Weird how the maesters don't care about the coming long night.
Overall I enjoyed this episode quite a lot! It feels soooo good to have the story move forward, even if it is D&D's version of it.
“In Qohor he is the Black Goat, in Yi Ti the Lion of Night, in Westeros the Stranger. All men must bow to him in the end, no matter if they worship the Seven or the Lord of Light, the Moon Mother or the Drowned God or the Great Shepherd. All mankind belongs to him... else somewhere in the world would be a folk who lived forever. Do you know of any folk who live forever?”

Would be cool, but I don't think she'll be killing them. I think this scene was meant to humanize the Lannisters. Wolf and Lion might one day hunt together.

If Bran arrives, I don't think he'll care. His priorities are all wintery.

Yeah. Show-Euron is basically a smaller, badder Tormund. Or Theon 1.0.

Word. If we ever get another book, this stuff will all pale in comparison I'm sure. But that "if" seems to be growing as large as the author's belt. (Suspenders?) Lol

I really enjoyed the ep, some funny lines, some good scenes but watching that then going straight into Twin Peaks was like putting down a child's colouring book to gaze up at a Monet.
I'm thinking about halfway up those Dragonstone steps, Tyrion briefly considered just launching himself over the edge. The poor bastard with those little legs, that climb must have been an absolute fucking nightmare.
He is a full foot taller than The Waif, this is not a new problem
voice, Maester Sam, I can't believe you guys made me go down this rabbit hole again !!! My head is now completely burst trying to figure out how the hell The Waif turned into Jaqen. So who is The Waif in season 6 ? How could they use her face if Arya doesn't cut it off until season 6 ? How was she even able to cut it off ? How could the s6 Waif use a face from the hall ? Was she a fully fledged FM ? How the fuck is Arya's face on dead, not-Jaqen ? Why does he kill himself for Arya ? I DON'T UNDERSTAND !!!!!!!!
It is really good to have the series back, but I found the episode so boring.
Did we learn anything new other than dragon glass being beneath the Dragon Stone?
I also enjoyed Jon/Sansa interactions, I think they are learning to communicate a bit, but I find it "really" funny how desperate for Sansa's approval Jon is
More white walkers/The Others, like seriously people!
