Another thing about Jon and this dragon riding thing, when they talk about how only Targaryen's ride dragons, then Benioff aka Stoned D states "Jon is a little slow about getting things, but eventually he get's it" or some such shit as that.
If Jon Snow takes him riding a dragon as a sign that he's a Trag then the casual watcher is fooked! In Jon's mind, there are 3 dragons, ridden by 2 different fn people with no commonalty!
BTW - I'm starting to worry that you and I working up each other. LOL
The blade was Valyrian steel, spell-forged and dark as smoke. Nothing held an edge like Valyrian steel.

Oh, it doesn't need to make sense in the world of D&D, therefore logic should not apply for us trying to figure it out, either.
BTW - I'm starting to worry that you and I working up each other. LOL
Ha! And it's only the first episode and things are bound to go downhill still. Also, you were the one promising to look at this season with positivity. I never promised any such thing, however, I have tried to take a page from your book and completely attempt to separate the books and show from my mind, and look at them as if they are two completely (and I mean absolutely and entirely) different stories! But I still like logic to apply and I still would like the show to remember it's own canon! I am probably not going to watch anymore behind the episodes, so I don't have to listen to D&D's logic, and perhaps that will help.
Their father understood as well. "You want no pup for yourself, Jon?" he asked softly.
Just remember... "Tits and Dragons", not "a song of ice and fire" and you'll be ok.
We all know this show would be better if WhiteWolfStark were the one behind the writing chair, so i just sit back and watch for the things that make me happy, and let most of my critical thinking skills go to the wayside while i watch what Dumb and Dumber have for me that week. usually there are tits and dragons, sometimes a direwolf, a good one liner, or a good fight scene, and that can tide me over.
But hey, i enjoy the Shannara Chronicles show too, mostly for the same reason: Its the only fantasy show on at the time...
I think I figured out the sigil thingy. Brace yourself for more disappointment.
"There are a number of symbols on the walls, some of them are supposed to remind us of patterns we have seen before, going back to the very first geometric pattern on the show - which was the weird array of body parts that the White Walkers made. One of the things we learned from these cave paintings is that the White Walkers didn't come up with those images. They derived them from their creators, the Children of the Forest. These are patterns that have mystical significance for the Children of the Forest. We're not sure exactly what they signify, but spiral patterns are important in a lot of different cultures in our world and makes sense that they would be in this world as well."
So there you have it, they don't signify anything.
Arya was awesome (as always), but the whole thrust of this season was completely given away. i've got the feeling Dany is going to fail the test Sam and the rest have set up for her (Would she give up her crown to save her people).
Yes I hope Sam does this test. He will certainly play a role in Jon's probable ascent just like in the Night's Watch.
- Euron, when told by Asha/Yara that he is fighting on the wrong side, says he may sail elsewhere... after he fucks the queen. Foreshadowing? IDK, but certainly a reminder that he is not loyal to Cersei. (Also - is anyone else surprised that Yara was completely unharmed??)
She should at least be down a tongue, at the very least. This discount Hot topic Euron makes me sick.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!
This episode was mostly as I (and I think everyone) expected ...with one exception. Theon's rescue mission was SO anti-climactic. What the fuck was up with that? Theon wants to go fight at Winterfell (which makes so little sense. He got flayed, how can he fight? Does he expect the White Walkers to repeatedly kick him in the balls?). I imagine Yara won't make an appearance again until the very end. Euron has business in King's Landing I think. There has to be some intrigue there.
Agreed, setup then instant payoff with nothing in between to make it interesting.
Theon maybe still be of some use with a bow depending on how many fingers he still has. Would have been cool foreshadowing for a later role in the series.
Samwell Tarly = Cristin Cole. He made him LC, now King. I'm really surprised that Sam was so upset about his dad. I'm also surprised at how Dany told him. She could have said that she offered to pardon him for betraying his liege, the Tyrells, or to take the black but he picked death. That whole "bend the knee" line is driving me up the fn wall.
I can see this being played out in the books I am pretty certain D&D have no idea who Criston Cole is.
Did D&D give Jon the name Aegon bc of book fAegon? Or will that be his name in the books too (assuming RLJ)? No one will ask why Rhargar named both of his sons Aegon?
You are looking for logic, it has been abandoned along time ago. Along with reason for madness.
And another thing, zero backstory on the Golden Company. I don't think they even mentioned that the 3-Eyed-Raven was BR or that any of the Great Bastards have come up.
Who needs context when you have pouty close ups, boobs and dragons?
Hints on Young Griff coming. 1. Euron mentions playing 'Cyvasse' (Dice in the show. I guess because show watchers do not know Cyvasse) and 'someone' cheating playing it. 2. Cercei does not get her wanted Elephants. One rule in Cyvasse is: The dragon removes all elephants on board. 3.In the new intro we clearly see 4 dragons and a shooting star.
Young Griff and Dayne hype!!!
I would facepalm and yet be fascinated how they attempt to shove this unexpected subplot in.
Another thing about Jon and this dragon riding thing, when they talk about how only Targaryen's ride dragons, then Benioff aka Stoned D states "Jon is a little slow about getting things, but eventually he get's it" or some such shit as that. Are they implying that Dany in some way knows that Jon is a Targaryen? Because that makes no sense and how the fook could she? Or implying that Jon is stupid because he rode a dragon but doesn't understand how he could do that? He's a warg! Oh, that's right, they never went that direction in the show with Jon, and we don't even know where Ghost is at. And this is why I don't watch those behind the episode things, because I end up even more irritated than I was just watching the show!
Watching the behinds the scenes stuff just helps you realize what hacks D&D are. For more info go here.
He's not scary in the way book Euron is. He can be funny, but so dumb. "Can they swim?" Apparently D&D don't give a shit about "dead things in the water".
I just hope they don't turn into spoilers for the observant watcher.
It seems to follow our information and only show us what we know at the beginning of the episode. If something changes during the episode, the credit are adjusted for next week.

Harry Strictland is FAegon.
Haha! It's as easy as a few lines of exposition, and boom... we have another Targaryen on the loose and already in Kings Landing, somehow with easy access to the Red Keep and a giant, orderly and well armored army!!! Something has to fill the time in for the episodes after the battle of Winterfell, which seems like they are winding up to have earlier in the season, as opposed to later! And Bran can say, "sorry Jon, I thought you were that baby but it turns out I got the wrong guy, guess you are a bastard after all"!
These video's from The Dragon Demands are insightful. Of course, listening to how Cogman talks about Sansa, one would think she got herself out of Winterfell, but she did not. It didn't strengthen her, it left her a weak and tearful mess, and it was Theon that saved her, got her out! Perhaps Cogman and crew had intended something different for Sansa's storyline at that point they wrote the script, but then in this very same season we see a wrecked woman with an even more wrecked man who saves her. She doesn't save herself at all, which is the whole argument he uses in this commentary, aka "the story isn't over". And then in the next season, it is Brienne who comes along and saves both Sansa and Theon! Gosh, it must be a huge batch of kool-aid they are passing out in production meetings...
Their father understood as well. "You want no pup for yourself, Jon?" he asked softly.
So there you have it, they don't signify anything.
Ahh, these behind the episodes where we see D&D... probably everything means nothing, and when they say we will see the meanings of things in later episodes, they are just lying, to us and probably themselves, about having some great meaning tied to their work. But they have nothing!
Nothing! Symbols that mean nothing but that they just keep repeating and repeating because they enjoy the imagery, I guess. It of course would mean more to their whole concept if they somehow had found a way to repeat the very first image we ever get in the S1E1 instead of injecting the spirals in, probably in S3 (that's a guess, maybe it was later).
And it's just a sign that they can do nothing original but are now forced to steal the idea's of ancient French cave dwellers!!!
Their father understood as well. "You want no pup for yourself, Jon?" he asked softly.
Ghost like the elephants will not be making an appearance this season. We can all be sad with Cersei.
Well, at least that gives me hope that Ghost is alive somewhere, probably swimming his ass to the Iron Islands, where it's apparently a safe zone! If only Ghost and Yara/Asha would have shared that secret, many lives could be saved...
Indeed no build up or anything. Just happy birthday *poof* you're a dragonrider Jon. Now keep your queen warm.
It was a tragic scene. The more I think about it, and I did watch it three times, (each time I winced more, until one of my eyes twitched shut for about two minutes) the worse it get's. Like their only inspiration for that scene is animated children's movies! Yikes! They could have tried to make it work if the scene had started with Jon saying "hey, I know a place where there might be some food your dragons might like better, a place I used to hunt as a kid..." and then they went there, it addresses the poor eating of the dragons and gives a reason for the flight, not just "hey, the dragons are hungry but who gives a shit, let's buzz Winterfell and then fly off someplace cold so we can get laid". Uugghh!!!

It will be interesting to see how and if it's altered next week. Of course, I don't expect to see Last Hearth. I am curious if we will see the Red Wedding imagery or dragon birth/comet imagery again, or it they will give us more. Perhaps two siblings fooking and then pushing a child from a tower! I would like to see that engraved in the astrolabe, or a smirking Cersei and a million voices screaming out as the Sept of Baelor explodes around them. It's like they stole that from Alderaan!
